Should I get a German shepherd

Hello, my name is Alex if you didn't already know and I am trying to decide if getting a German Shepherd is the right thing for me. Now before I go in depth about the breed I am going to tell you little bit about myself. I am currently married with 3 children, I own a small computer business and make a steady income "No I am not a computer nerd I lease computers to business's". I also have been playing poker for several years and still do (I play very small limit Texas Holden games) and I'll have more hubs about that later.I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. My children are 5,8,12 and by my knowledge I have read that if raised correctly German Shepherds can be absolutely great family dogs. Now let's read on to see some of the positive reasons I consider getting a German shepherd

First off I think that a German shepherd is a really smart dog. I know this because my friend had a German shepherd and that dog could do almost anything that was commanded. Second off German Shepherds are excellent guard dogs. For example my neighbor has like 4 cats that he just lets out during the day. When I come back in the evening I find dead rats and little dug up pits in my wife's garden. I was puzzled when I saw a cat a dig up a hole, take a crap, then fill the whole back up. At Least if I get a German shepherd I'll get those cats to stop crapping in my backyard. I mean getting a German shepherd seems very attractive but their are a couple negatives to it...

First of all HAIR! HAIR! HAIR! German Shepherds are some of the most hairiest animals in the world NO JOKE, I mean at the hair they produce everyday I bet they're faster hair growers then sasquatch. Another thing that most people find very unattractive is the amount of energy this breed needs. You need to walk him/her at least 30 minutes a walk, 2 walks a day and around 30 minutes of fetch. Another item is that if you don't walk your dog the dog automatically thinks that it's the boss. What the ****, you don't pay the morgage, the water bill, for Christ sake dog you don't even have a job. Anyway, you need to show this breed that you are in charge not them. Most breeds see the human superior automatically, but the GSD is FEARLESS, just kidding, but SERIOUSLY WALK THE F***ING DOG! and don't forget to play fetch!
